A 10-day workshop to this effect conducted by CTO experts, took place, 12 - 23 June, 2017, in Yaounde. The workshop which addressed key security themes including - the foundation of theoretical knowledge and practical experience of network and system security; principles of data and technology that frame and define cyber security and how to protect Critical Information Infrastructure was declared opened by Mr. Bouba Djamaa, Director of the Department of Standardization and Cooperation, ANTIC, on behalf of the General Manager.
The over 40 trainees mostly IT and Telecommunications Engineers at the workshop were drawn from ANTIC, Ministry of Post and Telecommunications - MINPOSTEL, National Advanced School of Engineering -ENSP, Cameroon Telecommunications -CAMTEL, Cameroon Postal Services -CAMPOST, Telecommunications Regulatory Board -ART and the National Advanced School of Posts, Telecommunication and Information and Communication Technologies -SUP’PTIC.
Holding at the premises of SUP’PTIC, the workshop kick-started the implementation phase of the cooperation agreement signed between ANTIC and CTO in 2016 geared towards strengthening the capacities of ANTIC’s personnel and that of public stakeholders of the ICT sector.
At the end of the workshop, participants were awarded Certificates.
Dr. Johnnes Arreymbi and Mr. Prish Moodley conducted the training - the first in a series that will see the capacities of ANTIC’s personnel and other public ICT institutions streamlined.
