Data Protection: basis for the growth of Cameroon’s digital economy

The Director General of ANTIC, Prof Ebot Enaw says data protection is indispensable in the development of Cameroon’s digital economy. To prevent unauthorised uses of data, stakeholders in the data management life cycle in Cameroon should secure the channels by which the data is collected; the places, virtual or physical, where the data is stored; and of the tools used to exchange data between entities in or out of organisations, Prof. Ebot recommended, 25 September 2019, while addressing participants at the opening ceremony of a two-day workshop on data protection organized by ANTIC in Douala. Participants at the workshop are drawn from financial institutions, mobile telephone companies, public sector and health institutions.
