ANTIC partakes in ITU Telecom World 2017

The ITU Telecom World that took place in Busan, South Korea September 25-28, 2017 was one of the 2017 International events for the ICT global community organised by the International Telecommunications Union, ITU. The event convened countries, companies, small and medium enterprises, organisations, and associations to exhibit innovative digital solutions, projects, initiatives, and partnership opportunities around the world.

The four-day event took place at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Centre (BEXCO), saw the participation of nations, enterprises, and promoters of IT projects, amongst which a delegation from Cameroon headed by the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Minette Libong Li Likeng. ANTIC, led by its Director General, Dr.Ebot Ebot was part of the Cameroonian delegation at the Busan event which had as focus creative digital economy and fostering tech SMEs.

ANTIC ran an exhibition stand at the Cameroon pavilion at the fringes of networking and forum sessions under the directives of the Director General. Key personalities from government ministries and diverse organisations including delegations from Mali, Mozambique and Nigeria visited the Agency’s stand and sought information about its operations and avenues for cooperation.ANTIC’s Director General also welcomed the Secretary General of the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO) SHOLA Taylor.

The four-day event ended on September 28, 2017 with an award ceremony dubbed the ITU Telecom World Award. ITU Telecom World 2018 shall take place in the Republic of South Africa.
